In addition to football, the league has partnered with other area non-profit organizations to donate time and resources to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ people in Rhode Island.
We offer Open Division seasons in the spring and fall, and a Women’s+ season in the summer. We also send travel teams to compete in national tournaments including the annual Gay Bowl. OSPVL runs an all-year recreational league, both indoor and outdoor, following USVBA rules.. The league is for individuals age 18 and over. This is an open league, which means we welcome all levels of play—from beginner to competitive. OSPVL also offers opportunities for skill building and connection with clinics provided by league members/coaches. Regular session play consists of creating randomized teams and playing each team at least once. This randomized selection of teams helps provide drop-in opportunities for those who have not pre-registered or are visiting from out of state. OSPVL also hosts tournaments and scrimmages to help foster fun and competitive play.
