Since 1982, Options Magazine has provided news, resources, and events for the Rhode Island area’s LGBTQ+ community. A 501(c)4 nonprofit organization, Options relies on donations and advertising revenue to fund this volunteer-driven organization.

Steve Ahlquist
For over ten years Steve has covered Rhode Island politics and protest. His work centers on social justice, climate justice, economic justice and more. His work has to helped prevent the expansion of fossil fuels in the state, helped to blunt the worst effects of anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ policies, and even helped topple a powerful Speaker of the House. In his work at RIFuture and UpriseRI he has chronicled protest movements, left politics and political campaigns.

Them, a next-generation community platform, chronicles and celebrates the stories, people and voices that are emerging and inspiring all of us, ranging in topics from pop culture and style to politics and news, all through the lens of today’s LGBTQ community.

LGBTQ Nation is an online news magazine, reporting on issues relevant to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer community. We have a pro-LGBTQ point of view, but we don’t shy away from keeping a critical eye on the movement itself.
