Mobile Crisis

Description

Mobile Crisis is an intensive, short term (30 days), home-based mental health support program for children and adolescents across the state of RI experiencing mental health/behavioral health crises. The goal of the program is to stabilize acute crisis situations while providing assessment and referrals to intensive treatment to address underlying problems that are perpetuating the crisis. Clinical support is available 24/7 for children receiving Mobile Crisis services.

Symptoms might include but are not limited to:

  • Aggression
  • Self-injury
  • Trauma
  • Acute depression/anxiety
  • Challenges at school
  • Suicidal or homicidal thoughts/behavior
  • Extreme parent/child conflict

Eligibility

  • Ages 2-21
  • Living in RI
  • Experiencing behaviors that place themselves or others at risk, such as expressing thoughts of self-harm or suicide.
  • Youth is experiencing severe stress, acute depression, or anxiety that may put them at imminent risk of being hospitalized.
  • To be eligible for the program, the youth must be able to contract for safety and have a caregiver willing to participate.

A caregiver can call to self-refer or be referred by a provider.
