REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS 2026 RI TRANS HEALTH CONFERENCE: PROVIDER TRACK
SATURDAY May 30, 2026 · PROVIDENCE, RI · OPEN REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND
The 9th annual RI Trans Health Conference will be held in person on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Rhode Island College. The Provider Track portion of the conference is Jointly Provided by The Warren Alpert Medical School and Rhode Island College in collaboration with the Rhode Island College Schools of Social Work and Nursing. The 2026 conference will include both a Provider Track and a Community Track. Each session of the Provider Track is being planned for continuing education credits in a variety of disciplines to promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
The goal of the Provider Track is to increase the number of health professionals across the care continuum who feel comfortable and confident providing quality care for all transgender and gender diverse (TGD) individuals. The conference is designed to meet the needs of medical providers, behavioral health providers, public health professionals, and paraprofessionals who support the health and healthcare of the members of the TGD community.
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
We are seeking educational proposals from potential presenters at all levels of education. We value lived experience as expertise and encourage presenters with lived experiences of underrepresented identities, such as race, gender, and ability, to apply. Presenters are not required to have any particular degree or certification, as long as they can demonstrate knowledge of and experience with the TGD population.
The RITHC Planning Committee accepts proposals for all topics. Suggested topics, as created by previous attendees and this year’s Planning Committee, are listed below. We encourage creative and interactive sessions, such as problem-based learning, small group breakout sessions, workshops, panels, and group discussions.
We are seeking advanced and introductory-level workshops. We are looking for interactive and interdisciplinary sessions with a public health and intersectional lens. All workshops should acknowledge aspects of cultural identity, microaggressions, and bias as they relate to the topic presented.
SUBMISSION DETAILS
The deadline to submit a proposal is midnight on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Late proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis until all session blocks are filled. Selections will be announced by Monday, March 2, 2026.
